Marc Marquez Will Back To His Optimal Condition ?

The former MotoGP rider, Marco Melandri, doubts Marc Marquez can return to the way he was after a severe injury. Currently Marquez is in the process of recovering.

The Repsol Honda rider suffered a broken right arm in the first race of MotoGP 2020, last July. However, just a few days after climbing the surgical table Marquez forced himself to follow the Andalusian series even though only until the free practice session.

As a result, Marquez’s injury got worse so he had to undergo a second operation. The eight-time world champion in the process must miss the rest of the championship before returning to surgery for the third time last week. Marquez is predicted to miss at least half a year from now. Although it is not certain when he will make a comeback.

Marquez rival, Maverick Vinales, believes the 27-year-old racer will have no trouble once he gets back on the track again. However, not a few are worried about Marc Marquez’s future after suffering a serious injury that took a long time to recover. One of them is Melandri.

Melandri has raced in MotoGP between 2003-2010 including defending the factory Honda team where he finished runner-up in 2005. According to him, Marquez will not be able to race optimally again.

“Very difficult,” Melandri replied when asked if Marquez could return to the way he was before. “On the one hand he has the passion, the determination to do it more than before but on the other hand I tell you it is very difficult.”

“He has spent a year without touching his bike and even if he can come back he will definitely not return to optimal conditions. Then with the current MotoGP condition you are riding very little on the bike. Even though you need it to be competitive again,” he concluded, quoted by Tuttomotoriweb.

The absence of Marc Marquez will force Honda to find a replacement racer to meet Pol Espargaro. So far, the Japanese manufacturer has been linked with Andrea Dovizioso.
